  • 12 Scallops fresh, not frozen
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 tbsp Soy Sauce low sodium
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tbsp Garlic diced
  • 2 tbsp Palm Sugar or any type of sugar
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp Crushed Red Pepper optional
  • 1 Green Onion sliced

Step-by-Step Instructions
 

  • Remove the side muscle from each scallop gently.
  • Rinse each scallop carefully and pat dry completely.
  • In a sturdy saucepan, mix all sauce ingredients and heat gently till warmed.
  • Pour olive oil into a heavy pan and heat it up.
  • Sear the scallops in the pan, cooking each side until they hit an internal temperature of 130°F and appear milky white or opaque and firm.
  • Plate immediately and drizzle with the warm sauce.
