Step-by-Step Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork.
  • In a skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  • Sprinkle the shredded gruyere cheese and cooked bacon evenly over the pie crust. Pour the egg mixture over the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and add mushrooms or spinach. Quiche Lorraine pairs well with a side salad for a complete meal.
