Step-by-Step Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork.
In a skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels.
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
Sprinkle the shredded gruyere cheese and cooked bacon evenly over the pie crust. Pour the egg mixture over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and add mushrooms or spinach. Quiche Lorraine pairs well with a side salad for a complete meal.
